Dr. Susanne Breen is a board certified naturopathic physician and owner of Capitol Wellness Center in Portland, Oregon. She completed her medical training at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) after initial medical studies at the Oregon Health Sciences University in conventional medicine. Dr. Breen completed a CNME/NERC certified residency at Pearl Natural Health focusing on treatment of IBS, IBD, SIBO, Bio-identical hormone therapy, and thyroid disease. Healing, she discovered, requires more than medication or even natural remedies.
Her inspiration came from her advanced studies at NUNM in gastroenterology, including Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), where she learned about the root causes of her personal health challenges. She read Breaking the Vicious Cycle, changed her diet, found direction from practitioners and started her path to health. She brings her personal experience and training to help others do the same.
After years of treating patients, Dr. Breen has become adept at addressing obstacles to healing, which include Lyme Disease, Mold sickness, environmental toxicities and other viral, bacterial and parasitic infections. Dr. Breen is a member of ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society), the OANP (Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians) and the GastroANP (Gastroenterology Association of Naturopathic Physicians).
As a doctor and mother, Dr. Breen knows how important women’s health is to feeling optimal. After childbirth, women in France receive a prescription for 10 -20 sessions of pelvic floor therapy, which is recognized as vital to their re-invigoration. Dr. Breen brings this unique and effective therapy to her women patients. Her training and expertise in the areas of gynecology and women’s health, bio-identical hormones, fertility, thyroid health, Irritable Bowel Disease (Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis), Irritable Bowel Syndrome, IV and IM nutrient therapy, herbal, nutritional and lifestyle changes offers people a holistic, integrative and comprehensive model of care.
